We recognize the importance of allowing employees and students the opportunity to process and understand their grief. Acknowledging and respecting grief in the workplace promotes individual well-being and an effective work environment. Chesapeake Life Center provides professional grief support and education to local businesses, schools, facilities and organizations. Services include:
On-site processing sessions for employees facing the unexpected loss of a colleague or multiple losses. (Average length 2 hours)
Remembrance ceremonies. (Average length 1 hour)
Facilitation of bereavement support groups where there has been a significant loss. These groups typically meet for six weeks. (Average length 1.5 hours)
Workshops and educational seminars of an organization’s choice related to grief and loss. Examples of presentation topics include: grief in the workplace, children’s grief, grief in those with developmental disabilities/mental illness and traumatic loss. (Average length 2 hours)
Hope Full Holiday seminar for staff or residents in a facility. This seminar offers participants an opportunity to honor their grief and memories while exploring coping strategies during the holiday season. (Average length 3 hours)
Program Development. For example, training direct-care providers to respond to losses within facilities. Our team also collaborates with community leaders and schools coping with sudden traumatic loss to promote recovery and healing in grieving children and teens.

Fee for services are offered at a standard rate of $100 per hour for time spent in direct contact with the employees or residents of the organization. Fees for services for the community at-large may be negotiated based on an organization's ability to pay.
